Effects Lamp

I built a lamp with individually addressable LEDs, with the idea to add different parameterized effects to it. For example, here is some matrix-like effect, like you would see in the movie, but with orange instead. lamp with red matrix effect

I started this project, before going to University. It’s a lamp, making use of the WS2812 individually addressable LEDs. Now, you could just buy a PCB with a large amout of LEDs on it and do something similar, but I had to create this with an LED strip I had lying around from an older project.

The controller was originally housed in a cardboard box. Three knobs for three different effects parameters and a button to switch through the different effects. The box only contained a breadboard with a socket for an Arduino nano, some potentiometers and connections for the LCD.

Here is an example display of the LCD, where you could see which mode you are in and which parameters you had currently selected.
